Light Heavyweight Brawler Elbiali Duels Marlos Simões in Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 & FOX Deportes Action This Saturday Night from Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. 

LAS VEGAS (May 22, 2019) – Light heavyweight brawler Ahmed Elbiali will return to the ring, and for the first time with new trainer Justin Gamber, when he faces Marlos Simões in a 10-round showdown as part of Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes action this Saturday night from Beau Rivage Resort Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

PBC on FS1 and FOX Deportes begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and is headlined by former super welterweight champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout returning to the ring to take on former title challenger Terrell Gausha in a 10-round super welterweight battle.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by TGB Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at the Beau Rivage Theatre box office and through Ticketmaster.

Elbiali has recently began working with a new trainer in Gamber, who also trains super middleweight champion Caleb Plant, and will look to show his improvement in the ring this Saturday night. Here is what he had to say about his new trainer and more:

On training with new coach Justin Gamber:
“I’ve been learning a lot since I started training with Justin Gamber, which was about six weeks ago. Nothing against my old trainers, I just felt I needed a new look. Justin and I work well together and I’ve improved tremendously. I’m learning how to relax more in the ring, which has helped me keep my power in the later rounds of sparring. Justin is a great coach and together we are going to make some noise in the light heavyweight division.”

On his recent training camp:
“I’ve put in a lot of hard work for this training camp and I can see the difference compared to other camps I’ve had in the past. I’m working on the fundamentals of boxing, using my jab more and setting up my combinations. I know I have the power to knock out my opponents, but now I’m learning more how to set it up. Living and training in Las Vegas has been a big boost to my career because the sparring out here is second to none. I’m having a great training camp.”

On his matchup with Marlos Simões:
“I know Simões is a durable opponent who’s only been stopped once in his career. I’m expecting him to be in great shape. He’s had a lot of success in the ring, so I’m preparing for a guy who can really fight. I’m just going to go in there and execute my game plan.”

On when he will be ready for a world title shot:
“I want to get as many fights as possible this year and make a world title run in 2020. Of course, everything is predicated fight to fight, but that is the goal.”

On making his televised return on FS1:
“Fighting on FS1 is always fun and exciting. FS1 is the platform where us fighters get the most exposure while we’re coming up. You can’t compare any other network to FOX, where the whole world can tune in. It’s truly a blessing for me to be fighting on FS1.”

MIAMI (December 9, 2017) – Former light heavyweight world champion Jean Pascal (32-5-1, 19 KOs) scored an impressive stoppage of previously unbeatenAhmed Elbiali (16-1, 13 KOs) in the sixth round of the main event of a special Friday night edition of Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 andBOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes at Hialeah Park in Miami, Florida.
 
Having already stated that this bout would be the final of his 12-year career, Pascal was able to wear down his younger opponent in a fight that featured power punches throughout. Elibali appeared to have Pascal stunned and hurt in the opening moments of the first round, but was unable to capitalize as Pascal began to time his powerful counters.
 
“It was a beautiful fight,” said Pascal. “I knew it would be my last one and I wanted to make a statement against a young, unbeaten fighter. It went basically as I expected, a couple of difficult moments but I was able to do everything I wanted.”
 
Elbiali stuck to his strategy of walking down Pascal with power shots, but exhausted too much energy in doing so while not being able to seriously hurt his opponent. Pascal’s counters grew stronger as the fight went on and Elbiali lost steam on his punches as he entered the sixth round for only the fourth time in his pro career.
 
After an impressive round five, Pascal poured on the attack in round six, landing numerous unanswered hooks before Elbiali’s corner called for a stop to the fight at 2:06 into the round. 
“I fought his fight, I should have boxed more and taken him into the later rounds,” said Elbiali. “It wasn’t my day. He is a world class fighter. I felt like I hurt him in the first round, but I felt drained after that. I’m not sure why, it might have been the nerves. But I’ll learn from this.”
The co-main event of the telecast saw top heavyweight contender Luis “King Kong” Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) deliver a second round knockout of Daniel Martz (16-6-1, 13 KOs) and swiftly call out heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder, who had joined the FS1 broadcast ringside.
 
The towering heavyweights exchanged words in the ring after the fight, with both men looking forward to a possible matchup in 2018.
 
“I’ve wanted you and I’m going to bless you again with another opportunity,” said Wilder. “I was ready the first time. This is a new day for you. I think you’re one of the best heavyweights in the world and I want to prove that I am the best. We must fight each other. You will have your fight.”
 
“Anthony Joshua doesn’t want to fight either of us, let’s give the world this fight,” said Ortiz. “There will be no excuses. I will be ready to do this for Cuba!”
 
Ortiz made quick work of his opponent, knocking him down with body shots in round one before delivering a counter left hand that put Martz down and prompted referee Samuel Burgos to stop the fight 43 seconds into round two.
 
Additional televised action featured welterweight prospect Bryant Perrella (15-1, 13 KOs) return to the ring to drop Alex Martin (13-3, 5 KOs) on his way to a unanimous decision victory.
“I felt pretty good about the fight,” said Perrella. “There are some things I’d like to have done different, but considering I was out for 15 months and injured for a long time, I’m pleased with what I was able to accomplish. I didn’t get the knockout after hurting him, but I was able to handle him better than anyone else before me.”
 
Perrella got off to a fast start when he landed a thudding lead right hook from the southpaw stance that put Martin on the canvas. Martin was able to recover enough to survive the round and rebounded to put together several good rounds while showing off impressive boxing ability.
 
The Florida-native Perrella was able to stabilize his lead and ride the momentum from the early knockdown to victory as he picked up his jab and overall aggressiveness in the second half of the fight. After 10 rounds the judges saw the fight in favor of Perrella by scores of 79-72 twice and 77-74.
 
The opening bout of the telecast saw a battle of unbeaten featherweight prospects as Philadelphia’s Stephen Fulton (12-0, 5 KOs) earned a majority decision victory overAdam Lopez (8-1, 3 KOs).
 
“I worked hard to get the win,” said Fulton. “I had to adjust after the first two rounds but I took the fight to him and controlled the pace. He thought he had me hurt in round two, but it wasn’t anything. He landed a good shot but that was it. I never stressed about how the fight would turn out as long as I stuck to the game plan.”
 
Lopez had his best moment of the fight late in round two when he staggered and appeared to hurt Fulton, who took a series of right hands before hearing the bell. Fulton was able to adjust and use his jab effectively while countering and rarely allowing Lopez to cut off the ring. Lopez was successful when he was able to get Fulton pinned against the ropes, but after eight rounds the judges ruled in favor of Fulton by scores of 78-74, 77-75 and 76-76.

On his current training camp:
“For the first time during a training camp, I’ve really secluded myself from society. I’m living at my trainer Carlos Albuerne’s house.  It’s like I’m in prison. I don’t see any of my close friends or family.  It’s hard, but I know it’s a necessary sacrifice if I want to get to the top.  I’m working on all aspects of my game, especially using my jab to set up my power shots.  My body is healthy and I’m in the best shape I’ve been in years.  All the hard work is paying off.  I feel great going into this fight.”
 
On facing former world champion Jean Pascal:
“Pascal is a very experienced fighter who knows what it’s like to win a world title.  He’s a former world champion who’s fought at the elite level.  He’s a dangerous puncher with a lot of skill.  I’m taking this fight seriously and I feel this will be a defining fight in my career.  I’m happy to have this opportunity and may the best man win.”
 
On fighting in his hometown of Miami:

A native of Cairo, Egypt now residing in Miami, the 26-year-old Elbiali had success in three TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAY appearances over the last two years. Those three contests saw him score a first round knockout of Fabiano Pena and eight-round unanimous decisions over Mariano Hilario and Andrew Hernandez. He takes on the 31-year-old Junior out of Sao Paulo, Brazil who was unbeaten in his first 15 pro fights. 

An unbeaten prospect from Cincinnati, the “Quiet Assassin” Clark picked up two victories in 2016 over increasingly quality competition as he stopped Elvin Perez in six rounds and earned a unanimous decision over Edgar Ortega. The 22-year-old last fought in his hometown in 2015 when he recorded a second round TKO of Joe Wilson Jr. He will be opposed by the 29-year-old Takahashi who has fought in the U.S. for his last five bouts. He most recently defeated Kim Poulsen by second round stoppage in September 2016.

MIAMI, FL (October 8, 2015)- Unbeaten light-heavyweight, Ahmed Elbiali (12-0, 11 KOs), has an opponent for his upcoming fight taking place October 13, 2015 at the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington.  The heavy-handed puncher Elbiali, will square off against Hungary’s Ferenc Albert (20-7, 9 KOs).  Premier Boxing Champions “Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays” on Fox Sports will televise the 8-round beginning at 9PM ET / 6PM PT live on Fox Sports 1. 

Ahmed Elbiali, who boosts a 92% knockout ratio, is a few days away from his nationally televised showdown with Ferenc Albert.  Hailing from Miami, Florida, Elbiali speaks on his training camp, boxing career and more.  Here’s what he had to say.

On facing his opponent Ferenc Albert…

“I don’t really know much about Ferenc Albert, except for the fact that he’s on a ten-fight winning streak.  I know he’s been extremely busy this year, fighting in twelve bouts so far this year.  I know he’s coming into this fight with a lot of confidence so this is no easy fight for me.  This will be a great fight for the fans because both of us are gunning for a victory.”

On having his fight televised live on Premier Boxing Champions “Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays” on Fox Sports…

 

“Fighting on the PBC on Fox Sports cards has been great for my career.  I’m constantly staying busy and I’m learning what it takes to fight on a regular basis.  The exposure I’m receiving is really getting the fans familiar with my fighting style. Since I’m an aggressive fighter, the “Toe-to-Tuesdays” title fits me well. I’m always going to be letting my hands go, throwing big bombs, trying to get my opponent out of there.  Fans in general want to see the knockout, and that’s what I try to deliver every time I step into the ring.”

On his relationship with longtime Trainer Carlos Albuerne…

“I’ve been with Carlos since my last fight as an amateur.  We have a great relationship and I respect him as a coach.  He’s got a lot of knowledge. Together we make a great team and he knows how to get the best out of me.  He’s always told me that I have the punching power to become a world champion.  I’m grateful to have him in my corner.”

On his progression as a professional fighter…

“With each fight I’m learning something new.  I know as my career moves along there will be times when I will have to go into deep waters, so I’m continuously working on my boxing skills.  Right now I’ve been fortunate to get some early knockouts, but I train to fight twelve rounds.  I’m evolving as a fighter and pretty soon I’ll be better-rounded with my boxing abilities.”

On working at the training facility “Fast Twitch” in Miami…

“Fast Twitch” is a state of the art facility with great strength and conditioning coaches.  I’ve gained a lot of endurance training there and my stamina is always peaking on fight night.  With the training I’m getting at “Fast Twitch”, I’m always on weight.  I love the fact that I’m getting top notch nutrition there as well.  It’s a great place to train if you’re a professional athlete.”

MIAMI, FL (September 2, 2015)  On Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California, undefeated light heavyweight power puncher, Ahmed Elbiali (11-0, 10 KOs) is scheduled to fight on the televised portion of the Premier Boxing Champions on Fox Sports 1 card headlined by Austin Trout (29-2, 16 KOs) vs. Joey Hernandez (24-3-1, 14 KOs).  Elbiali will face an Fabiano Pena (12-3-1, 8 KOs) in an 8-round bout.  The PBC telecast will begin at 9PM ET / 6PM PT live on Fox Sports 1. 

Elbiali, who’s known for having heavy hands, is one of the most exciting fighters in the light heavyweight division. With a 90% knockout ratio, Elbiali is being touted as the next great knockout artist.  He’ll look to continue that trend against Pena. 

“I’m always looking to end the fight early if I get my opponent hurt,” said Ahmed Elbiali. “A couple of fights ago I went the distance for the first time and I felt good knowing I can fight into the later rounds if need be. I love to let my hands fly and bring exciting fights to the fans. That’s what I try to do in all my fights. On September 8th, I’ll be looking to do the same.”

With Al Haymon guiding the career of Elbiali, sky is the limit.
